Critics about CARMEN

Carsten Michels Bündner Tagblatt, Südostschweiz

The mezzo-soprano lays down a Carmen,  who at the moment of her performance, lets forget all her predecessors. This can not be explained by << natural vocal intelligence >>, but with soul, spirit and charm-as well as a voice that Goranci could carry far in the international opera business. An immortal heroine.

Berner Zeitung

Carmen is embodied by mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci. She corresponds to the image of the proud gypsy woman with long hair, red lips and a fiery gaze. With her feminine charms, she seduces men and enjoys their desires. Her enticing, dark mezzo tones form an attractive combination with the powerful tenor of Manolito Mario Franz as Don Jose.

About the concert with Hamburger Symphonie Orchester Thomas Pöhlsen (Abendblatt.de) writes:

Goranci was also the focus of the first part of the concert, which offered exclusively excerpts from the opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. The mezzo-soprano is - not only visually - an outstanding character  of the woman who the men yearn for. She performed the role with a deep, melodious mezzo-soprano, strong, clear highs and beautiful phrasing. Flaka Goranci knows how to move vocally between tender and dramatic. And with small looks, few movements and a challenging posture, the Kosovo Mezzo-soprano  manages to present the facets of this game credibly.

Critics about MARIA ‘’Maria de Buenos Aires’’

The vocal performances were completely convincing, especially María could not have been cast better: When mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci sings "Yo soy María", there was not a spark of doubt that she (and only she) is the Maria whoTango lives, gives it the appropriate, dark vocal color from which all tango qualities shimmer.

Flaka Goranci embodies this tragic female figure, grandiose and believable. Her warm, dark alto harmonizes perfectly with the tenors.

Flaka Goranci as María is celebrated (besides the two young tenors Leonardo Navarro and Oscar Ore) for her rich contralto sound - on this happy evening.

Critics about JENNY ‘’Die Dreigroschenoper’’

“Flaka Goranci as Spelunkenjenny gives the role of the treacherous lover a remarkable depth. With her dark, warm and powerful mezzo she impressively conveys Jenny’s tragedy and resignation. Her voice gives the Salomon song an incredible emotionality and is thus a highlight of the evening. Flaka Goranci manages to make the bitterness and at the same time the injured dignity of her character tangible.”

Be it Flaka Goranci, whose pirate Jenny makes it crackle with her sensual mezzo.
